On Wednesday 11th November, 2020 at 0825 hrs the Marine Nationale (French Navy) La Fayette Class Frigate FS ACONIT F 713 entered Grand Harbour, Malta assisted by tugs SPINOLA and SEA SALVOR.

The La Fayette Class is a class of general purpose frigates built by DCNS and operated by the French Navy and is also serving in Saudi Arabia; Singapore and Taiwanese Navies. FS ACONIT is the second line multi-mission stealth frigate of the French Navy. Initially to be named JAUREQUIBERRY she is now the fourth French vessel named after the Flower Class Corvette ACONIT (Ex- HMS ACONITE) which was one of the nine Flower Class Corvette leased by the Royal Navy to the Free French Naval Forces during World War II.

This her third time to call at Malta with the last one in February 2018 and she also called in July 2016.

Both in 2016 and this month her AS565 Panther Helicopter was embarked from 36 Flottile.

She left Grand Harbour on Friday 13th November at 0925 hrs from Pinto 4 and 5 wharves, part of Valletta Cruise Port.
