The Royal Danish Navy Niels Juel Class corvette HDMS PETER TORDENSKIOLD F 356 paid a diplomatic visit at Valletta, Malta on Friday 19th May, 2006 entering at 0835 hrs berthing at DWQ 1 for few hours.

Later afternoon she shifted with 2 local tugs PAWLINA and FELICA to Pinto 5 Wharf.

Launched on 30th April 1980, built in Denmark at Aalborg Shipyard and she was one of three corvettes as Niels Jule Class. She is named after the Danish Norwegian sea hero Peter Tordenskiold and is often named with the abbreviation PETO. The ship has participated in several international operations, including in the UN blockade in the Adriatic towards the former Yugoslavia as well as in UNIFIL off the Lebanese coast. 

She left Valletta on Sunday 21st May 2006 at 2230 hrs bound to Athens, Greece.

She was decommissioned from the Navy on 18th August 2009 and was recycled at Lindø Shipyard’s, Denmark in February 2013.
