USNS JOHN LENTHALL T-AO 189 is a replenishment ship of the United States Navy. She was launched on 9th August 1986 and entered service on 25th July 1987.

She entered Valletta on Wednesday 7th April 2004 berthing starboard side alongside to Parlatorio Wharf, Malta Drydocks.

It was her second call to Malta, the first one in 1991 when she called to Malta Freeport to discharge two 19 metre Equity Class NOAA patrol craft that were donated to Malta for the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) by the US Government.

On Saturday 17th April, 2004 an accident occured inside harbour when the 1996 built Norwegian offshore supply ship NORMAND CARRIER lost steering control, collided with Libyan fishing purse seiner NAWRAS and gashed into the naval tanker on her port quarter while the tanker was undergoing maintenance. No one suffered injuries.

She left Valletta on Thursday 29th April, 2004.
