With the current COVID-19 situation especially the offshore side with hardly crew changes etc, lately 3 drillships operated by Stena Drilling anchored off Gibraltar awaiting orders.
Arriving late in April they are the STENA ICEMAX which is the world’s first dynamically positioned, dual mast ice class drillship. She’s a Harsh Environment DP Class 3 drillship capable of drilling in water depths up to 10,000 feet. She was built in 2012 at Samsung Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries at Geoje in South Korea with 55,000 DWT.
Then we have the STENA DRILL MAX which is a Harsh Environment dynamically positioned DP Class 3 drillship capable of drilling in water depths up to 10,000 feet. She was built in 2007 at Samsung Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries at Geoje in South Korea with 97,000 DWT.
And the third unit as STENA FORTH which arrived on Tuesday 21st April from Callao, Peru. She’s Harsh environment, dynamically positioned DP Class 3 drillship capable of drilling in water depths up to 10,000 feet and also built at the same yard as the above units in South Korea in 2009 with 58,307 DWT.
