On Thursday 25th October, 2018 the 155.970 metres long Heavy Load Carrier HAPPY STAR entered Grand Harbour, Malta at 1109 hrs for the first time bound to Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd.

She was escorted towards Malta by the 1983 built ITA flag and owned tugboat GIANEMILIO C since the ship had steering problems and was in restricted manoeuvrability.

She was built in China by Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding Co ltd at Zhoushan with yard no 646. She was ordered on 1st February, 2012 with her keel laid on 1st May, 2013. Launched on 20th April, 2014 she entered service on 25th August, 2018. Her GRT is 18,374 tons with 18,062 tons as deadweight (dwt). She can carry 1,226 TEU’s and has 2 Cranes of 900 tonnes SWL.

By noon she was secured port side alongside at Parlatorio Wharf.

On Tuesday 30th October, 2018 she was seen drydocked inside Dock 4, stern in.

And with repairs completed she left forever from Dock 4 on Tuesday 20th November at 1306 hrs.
