On Saturday 17th April, 2021 the 2011 built seismic research ship BGP PROSPECTOR entered Grand Harbour, Malta at 1349 hrs coming from Recalada, Argentina embarking pilot inside breakwaters due to swell.






She was built in South Korea at Sekwang Heavy Industries at Ulsan and homeported at Nassau (BHS Flag).


She was assisted by 2 local tugs PAWLINA and SEA SALVOR, entering Palumbo Malta Shipyard Facilities bound to Dock 5 for drydocking.





On Saturday 15th May around 1000 hrs she undocked from Dock 5 and shifted to Factory Wharf disabled assisted by 2 tugs.


Originally it was planned that she will do sea trials on Sunday 16th May and leave on Tuesday 18th May but everything happened on Tuesday 18th May of which from 0753 to 1344 hrs she conducted sea trials and left Valletta at 1927 hrs bound to Bunkering Area 3 West for uplifting bunkers before heading to Tema, Ghana.
