After 24 days since the departure of Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) crude oil tanker ARCHANGEL, it was time to see another Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) build, this time the ALASKA homeported at Majuro (MHL Flag) too.
She passed breakwaters at Grand Harbour on Sunday 26th May at 1248 hrs assisted by 4 tugs and berthed starboard side alongside Parlatorio Wharf.
On Monday 27th May the cruise liner MSC SPLENDIDA was her turn to leave and on completion Dock no 6 was drained out so the dock blocks for the keel of the tanker will be in order.

On Wednesday 29th May, 2 Harbour Pilots and 4 tugs (2 of them coming from Marsaxlokk Harbour) were ordered for shifting her from Parlatorio Wharf towards Dock 6 for drydocking around 1000 hrs.
On Thursday 13th June, fresh black hull was being done –
On Tuesday 18th June she was seen in fresh clean hull –
3 days later more finishing touches were being done before her undocking –
Late morning of Sunday 23 rd June, she shifting from Dock 6 to Parlatorio Wharf with the assistance of 4 tugs, 2 of them coming from Marsaxlokk Harbour.
And on Thursday 27th June ALASKA left Valletta bound to Bunkering Area 3 for uplifting bunkers from Parlatorio Wharf passing breakwaters at 1455 hrs.
