On Monday 21st January 2019 a towage convoy consisting of tugs FAIRMOUNT GLACIER and KOLGA towing Cargo/Launch Barge H-591 loaded with jacket passed 45 nm offshore Malta bound to offshore Israel at Leviathan Oil Field.
FAIRMOUNT GLACIER was built in 2006 by Niigata Shipbuilding & Repair , Japan with a Bollard Pull of 200 tons. IMO: 9344796; 75m loa and 3,239 tons GRT.
KOLGA was built in 2013 by Astilleros Armon Vigo, Spain with a Bollard Pull of 202 tons. IMO: 9646326; 72m loa and 3,470 tons GRT.
H 591 was built in 2011 by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, South Korea as Deck Cargo Pontoon. IMO : 9567312; 180m loa and 27,106 tons GRT. She has a maximum launch capacity of 24,000 tons.
The Leviathan field is located around 68 nautical miles west of Haifa, Israel, in the eastern Mediterranean.
The field, holding around 22 trillion cubic feet of gross recoverable resources, will be developed using a subsea system that connects production wells to a fixed platform located offshore with tie-in onshore in the northern part of Israel.
