On Friday 12th July, 2024 the towage of the 74 metre long (loa) jack up oil rig SHELF DRILLING RESOURCEFUL was spotted passing around 32 nautical miles offshore Malta.

The 2008 built Jack Up Oil Rig SHELF DRILLING RESOURCEFUL  is of a LeTourneau Super 116-C design. She was refitted in 2017 and is capable of operating in water depths of up to 350 ft and can accommodate 118 people.

She was carrying out operations for Eni in the Adriatic Sea offshore Italy on a 3 year contract that started during Q2 of 2023 and isn’t the first time time working for Eni.

Towage tugs were the 2001 Danish Built UT 728 design offshore tug supply ship ASSO VENTIQUATTRO with 69.40 m loa and maximum bollard pull of 162 metric tons (mt).

Second tug was the 2007 Norwegian Built UT 734 design offshore tug supply ship ASSO VENTOTTO with 68.90 m loa and maximum bollard pull of 140 metric tons (mt).
