On Monday 12th December around 1530 hrs (Ukranian Time) the Turkish (TUR) Flag floating sheerlegs ZAKHARIJ was attacked after the Russians opened fire at the Kherson region of which she’s berthed there with a bomb dropping in her engine room.
She’s the largest floating crane (though sheerlegs) in Turkey and was built in 2011 at Leninskaya Kuznitsa shipbuilding plant, Kiev, Ukraine as a 93 metre non self propelled LK-600 floating sheerlegs with a lifting capacity of 680 tons and lifting height of 75 metres. She’s classed to the Türk Loydu classification with the Sirius Marine Construction operation and the Turkish flag was hoisted,
Back to 2011 unfortunately shortly after she was commissioned, on Friday 18th November, 2011 she collapsed with her jib resting on her starboard side pontoon while working on the Podolsko-Voskresenskiy bridge in Kiev , Ukraine under construction.
