On Friday 15th January, 2021 the 2009 built Escort tug SPINOLA left Marsaxlokk Harbour, Malta at 1940 hrs bound to offshore Sicily.

On Saturday 16th January, 2021 at 0721 hrs she arrived to assist the disabled Portuguese Gill netter AGRIAO around 34 nautical miles north west of Valletta.

AGRIAO was built in Spain by Gestinaval at Cudillero in 2000 with radio callsign as CUTZ5 and fishing matricola as PD-561-C homeported at Ponta Delgada. She’s 29.46 metres long and 224 GRT.

Around 0830 hrs tow was connected and started her way towards Valletta. Though towage arrived around 1600 hrs Valletta VTS instructed her to approach 3 miles off at 1747 hrs as clearance and arrangements were soon to be ready.

At 1835 hrs approval was given so that the towage will enter Grand Harbour. At 1903 hrs towage passed breakwaters with tugboat SEA SALVOR assisting.

She was berthed at Pinto 4 wharf, Valletta Cruise Port without pilot by SEA SALVOR and was secured by 1944 hrs.

Tug SPINOLA left Valletta bound to Marsaxlokk Harbour at 1935 hrs.
