Metal waste is exported in Malta and from time to time, ships call at Grand Harbour, Malta berthing at Laboratory Wharf South 2 for loading scrap iron bound to Turkey.

On Wednesday 1st November, 2023 the 87.75  metre long (loa) coaster C.CAPELLA entered Valletta around 0700 hrs to berth at Laboratory Wharf South 2 to start loading scrap iron in her holds.

She was built in 1994 at Slovenske Lodence at Komarno, Slovakia as NORDSTERN and she was sold in September, 2017 and renamed with the current name by her Turkish Company. She’s homeported at St. John’s  with Antigua & Barbuda (ATG)  flag. She has a 2,446 GRT and 3.691 tons DWT.

Her Duration at Malta was 3 days and 10 hours of which she left Valletta on Saturday 4th November at 1737 hrs bound to Nemrut, Turkey.
