An interesting vessel that called at the family owned ship repair yard, situated at Coal Wharf, Grand Harbour inner side was the 1966 built former Norwegian Rescue Ship SPEIDEREN.

She was temporarily berthed at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Marina berth at Valletta.

She was part of the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue (NSSR) as RS 70 SPEIDEREN and was stationed at Sørvær (Finnmark). Her callsign was LEPG and was 22.85 metres long

During 1994 she was decommissioned and conversion was carried out to create a fast, luxurious cruising vessel for a private owner  She was in Stockholm in private ownership in 2003 registered as a dive boat for 12 passengers.

She had 2 x Rolls Royce Engines giving her a speed of 10 knots with towing power of 6 tons with range of 2,100 nautical miles.

And currently she’s part of St Hilda Sea Adventures, Scotland fleet.
