Bezzina Ship Repair Yard (BSRY) is a complete Ship and Yacht repair facility for vessels of steel, aluminium, CRP and wood. It is a privately family owned and situated at Coal Wharf, Grand Harbour inner side.
With 2 former Admiralty reinforced concrete floating docks (RCFD) of which lately they were refurbished, repetitive and new clients are calling and lately one of the classic yachts around the world that is a repetitive client of Bezzina Ship Repair Yard (BSRY) since the year 2021 is the Yugoslavian 1952 built 54.16 metre yacht SEAGULL II.
Built as the twin screw passenger ship with 650 passenger capacity as VLADIMIR NAZOR at Brodograđevna Industrija Uljanik, Pula, Yugoslavia with yard number 138 for Jadranska Linijska Plovidba, Rijeka, Yugoslavia until 1972 where she was sold and retained her name until January 1986 where she was sold and renamed POREC still wearing white hull and blue funnel trading until January 2002 of which she was sold and renamed as BISER JADRANA trading only for 11 months wearing white hull with Pegaz Tours cheatline and white funnel too. During December 2002 she was sold again to undisclosed owners and renamed as SEAGULL I, rebuilding and converted her in a classic yacht.
Reflagged to Maltese Flag (MLT) homeported at Valletta, she was renamed as SEAGULL II from July 2006 and in the past she used to drydock at Palumbo Superyacht Facilities.
This ship, which was Jadrolinija’s first newly built ferry and is now 73 years old, she’s the last survivor of the ‘Poets Class’ of 6 Passenger Ships.
With accommodation for 9 crew members, including the ship’s captain and up to 12 guests, she has both steel hull and superstructure. She is powered by 2 Caterpillar Inc engines, which give her a top speed of 14 knots and carries 45,000 litres of fuel on board.
