TASMANIA is an island state of Australia and it is located 240 km to the south of the mainland separated by Bass Strait. The state encompasses the main island of Tasmania, the 26th largest world island and the surrounding 334 islands.

Below are some movements around Tasmania covered by a great friend for the month of March 2019 –

On Sunday 3rd March the 2014 built MLT flag bulker ECKERT OLDENDORFF was seen arriving at Risdon upstream from Hobart,Tasmania, Australia where she discharged Zinc Concentrates. IMO : 9676591; 180 m; 25,431 GRT.

On Wednesday 6th March the 2010 built LKA flag general cargo ship ZEA WALAWE was seen berthed at the Nyrstar Wharf upstream from Hobart discharging Zinc Concentrates. IMO: 9500065; 140 m; 9,772 GRT.

On Tuesday 12th March the 2014 built CYP flag bulker HANDY STRANGER was spotted underway up to the Nyrstar wharf at Risdon up stream from Hobart where she discharged Zinc Concentrates. IMO : 9643453; 182 m; 23,163 ts.

On Sunday 17th March the 2010 built MHL flag bulker FOOLS GOLD was seen berthed at the Nyrstar Wharf at Risdon upstream from Hobart discharging Phosphate form Narau. IMO : 9551351; 169 m ; 17,018 GRT.

On Tuesday 19th March the 2005 built AUS flag passenger ship CORAL DISCOVERER was spotted departing Hobart on her last cruise of Southern Tasmania for the summer before returning to Hobart start the voyage back to Northern Australia waters. IMO: 9292747; 63 m; 1,779 GRT.

Same day the 2013 built MLT flag cruise liner EUROPA 2 was seen departing Tasmania. IMO: 9616230; 226 m ; 42,830 GRT.

And following her was the 2017 built NIS flag cruise liner VIKING SUN of which it was her maiden call to Hobart. IMO: 9725433; 228 m; 47,842 GRT.

On Saturday 30th March the 2009 built BHS flag crude oil tanker GULF COBALT was spotted underway up the Tamar River and out to sea from Bell Bay in Northern Tasmania after discharging Petroleum Products. IMO: 9389849; 228 m; 42,446 GRT.
