On Saturday 19th May, 2001 several units of the Libyan Dredging Company COMAFISH was seen arriving at Grand Harbour, Malta either as deck cargo or towed like the 1965 built cutter suction dredger SIRTE 2 that was seen being towed by the Greek Tug AGIOS DIMITRIOS.

AGIOS DIMITRIOS was built in the Netherlands at YVC Ysselwerf – Capelle Aan Den Ijssel as STRAIT SHORE (GBR Flag) trading until 1980; sold and renamed as STRAIT I until 1988 where she was sold to Vernicos Tugs & Salvage, Greece and renamed as AGIOS DIMITRIOS.

The Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD) SIRTE 2 was also built in the Netherlands in 1965 as yard number 496 with the name as HAM 210 for the Hollandsche Aanneming Maatschappij famously known as HAM where she traded until 1981 of which she was sold to the Maltese Company Kalaxlokk Co Ltd (KXC) and renamed as IL-KENNIES ( sweeper in Maltese Language). During the 90’s she was sold to Bezzina Group retaining the same name until she was sold to Libya in 2000 and renamed as SIRTE 2.

Towage entered to Coal Wharf at Bezzina Group Facilities assisted by Tug Malta tugs KATRIN and VITORIN (Both still sailing at Malta)
