October 2024 started with various maiden and interesting port calls with an interesting towage too. The Polish built offshore tug/supply ship MSC DRAGON towed the Chinese built container ship MSC LENA F towards Valletta, Malta on Tuesday 1st October, 2024.
While towage was approaching Valletta, the tugboat ST.ELMO left Valletta proceeding to the container ship to take over the tow after she assisted roro PRINCESS NABIHA, another maiden call. Connected around 0830 and was told by Valletta VTS to be at pilot station around 1000 hrs.
Meanwhile another tug – ST. ANGELO shifted from Marsaxlokk Harbour since there were several ship moves with tugs.
After the completion of the departure of a Hellenic Navy Frigate, both pilot and tug SEA SALVOR proceeded to the disable 139.1 metre container ship MSC LENA F.
Which was her maiden call and towage proceeded to Parlatorio Wharf at Palumbo Malta Shipyard.

Upon completion it was the turn of another maiden call, the offshore tug/supply ship MSC DRAGON to call at Palumbo Malta Shipyards too.

She was secured at Factory Wharf –
MSC LENA F left Valletta on Sunday 6th October passing breakwaters at 1418 hrs from Parlatorio Wharf.
