On Wednesday 19th September 2012 the 1981 built tug PILEAS I towing the 1977 built hopper barge RAS TANNURAH I left Valletta, Malta from Palumbo Malta Shipyards.

PILEAS I was built in Romania at Santierul Naval Severnav in Severin as the ALEXANDRIA 3 trading until 2000 when renamed ELPIDA until January 2003; THALASOPOROS from 2003 to 2004 and PILEAS from 2004 to March 2009.

RAS TANNURAH I was built in Japan by Mitsui Tamano Engineering & Shipbuilding at Tamano. On Tuesday 18th September 2012 she was floating inside Dock 5 at Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd.

Homeported at Kingstown, she’s owned by Saudi Archirodon Ltd of Jeddah , Saudi Arabia.
