On Friday 4th October at 1828 hrs the tugboat SEA BUFFALO on which the previous day around 1815 hrs she left Valletta entered harbour after towing the Libyan longliner AL SHAFQ of which she was passed to Tug Malta tugs to secure her at Bormla Wharf, Palumbo Malta Shipyard.
SEA BUFFALO was built in 1979 by Dunston Richard Hessle, UK for Alexandra Towing as INDOMITABLE until October 2009 where she was renamed by GPS Marine as HIBERNIA until July 2014. She was renamed WJT-3500 and sold to Woongjin Development at Pusan, South Korea and early this year she was renamed SEA BUFFALO by Cassar Marine Services, Malta.
AL SHAFQ was built in 1992 by Astilleros Gondan at Castropol, Spain one of four longliners built for LISPAFISH (Libyan Spanish Fishing Company) but after the Civil War in 2011 all finished in different ownership.
