An interesting towage currently underway is the Maltese tug ST. ANGELO towing the hull block of the Virgin Voyages Cruise Ship No 3 known as HULL 6289 from VARD Tulcea, Romania bound to Sestri Ponente Fincantieri at Genoa giving ETA of Tuesday 28th April, 2020.

ST.ANGELO was built in 2017 by Damen Shipyards, Galati as ASD tug 2913 design and homeported at Valletta, Malta with callsign as 9HA4504. She has a bollard pull of 83 tonnes.

Today Monday 20th April, 2020 the towage convoy entered Augusta, Sicily at 0751 hrs for bunkering operations.

Towage was assisted by the tug CAPO MILAZZO –

CAPO MILAZZO was built at Hitzler Werft at Lauenburg, Germany in 1993 one of four sisterships all built by the same yard ( BEPPE, PUNTA CUGNO, MEGARA, CAPO MILAZZO) as an ASD Tug. She’s homeported at Augusta, Sicily with callsign as IQIJ. Bollard Pull is 50 tonnes.

In the afternoon ST. ANGELO received bunkers by the 52 metre bunkering tanker PUNTA ROSSA.

On completion of bunkering , towage started to leave and around 1845 hrs the convoy left to complete her voyage.
