The third former Holland America Line cruise liner to call at Malta within few days was the 2000 built liner BOLETTE that passed Grand Harbour breakwaters at 0713 hrs coming from Cartagena, Spain.
She was built in 2000 by Fincantieri at Trieste, Italy as yard no Venice 6052 for Holland America Line (HAL) – AMSTERDAM of which she started her maiden voyage on 30th October 2000. She’s the last and the fourth ship of the Rotterdam Class (R Class) bearing two funnels opposite each other. During July 2020 it was announced that she will be sold to FOCL for September 2020 delivery and will be renamed as BOLETTE wearing FOCL livery.
Few hours after her entry the 1997 built oil products tanker ENDO SIROCCO was alongside her for uplifting bunkers.
She berthed at Pinto 1 and 2 wharves, Valletta Cruise Port of which exchanging of memorabilia from both sides happened with the CEO Mr. Stephen Xuereb and Head of Operations & Projects Mr. Mark Cauchi Garzia and with her husbandry agent.
She left later in the evening at 1754 hrs bound to Alicante, Spain.
