The world’s largest Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) is the 2015 built HOEGH TRIGGER with a carrying capacity of 8,500 car equivalent units (CEU).

She was built in China by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry at Xiamen with yard number 462B as HOEGH TRIGGER, the second vessel in a series of 6 Post-Panamax vessels under the New Horizon design.

Mrs Dorte Wedell-Wedellsborg, wife of Ditlev Wedell-Wedellsborg (Director of Höegh Autoliners Holdings AS), successfully named the vessel through the traditional ceremony on Wednesday 9th September 2015.

She has 12 metres of ramp width and capacity to take cargo weighing up to 375 tonnes. Höegh Autoliners took delivery of six of these Post Panamax vessels during 2015 and 2016.

All photographs are back to 10th March, 2018 whilst entering Grand Harbour, Malta.
