The first Yacht Transport Operation made at Grand Harbour, Malta was done by the 1995 built MPP ship MITIQ which was also her maiden call. Normally she’s seen in Canadian waters since she’s managed by Nunavut Eastern Arctic Shipping (NEAS) based at Montreal, Canada and owned by the Dutch Shipping company Spliethoff that was established in 1921.
She was built as EMMAGRACHT by Frisian Shipbuilding Welgelegen at Harlingen, Netherlands with yard number 503 with 135.90 m length (loa) and 18.90 m beam and traded until July 2013.
EMMAGRACHT entering Grand Harbour, Malta back to 19th March, 2012 for a yacht transport operation.
She entered on Saturday 6th January at 1711 hrs coming from Genoa with Harbour Pilot embarking inside since Heavy weather was around and was secured to DWQ 2 in port side alongside.
On Monday 8th January, she started operations with the wind force decreased and loaded 3 locally yachts that were sold to Turkish Interests,
First one was the 2016 built Sunseeker Predator 57 CARIBBEAN JEE JAM which we also saw her at Malta as MAMY.
Then the Sunseeker Manhattan 70 JUPJU was loaded.
And finally the third one was the Sunseeker Manhattan 55 SEADWELLER.
An interesting Deck Cargo was the 14.36 m 2008 built Targa 44 pleasure yacht PLAN D homeported at London (GBR Flag).
After lashing and hot works were completed with wind force decreasing , her port of call ended on Tuesday 9th of which MITIQ left Grand Harbour, Malta at 1057 hrs bound to Alexandria, Egypt.
