The classic 115.76 metre (380 ft) superyacht ATLANTIS II was seen once again in Malta during February/March 2021 at Palumbo Superyachts. In fact in February she was drydocked at Dock no 2.

She was built in 1981 by Hellenic shipyards, Greece for Stavros Niarchos, famous Greek-American magnate of the time. She was reportedly built in a race between Onassis and Niarchos to the largest yacht with Niarchos topping by 17m Onassis’s CHRISTINA O. Powered by twin diesel Semt Pielstick engines of 4,800hp each, ATLANTIS II has a maximum speed of 14 knots and can cruise at 12 knots.

ATLANTIS II was part of 3 identical sister ships. The first yacht was ATLANTIS I now named as NAVTILVS the former ISSHAM AL BAHER, the second is ATLANTIS II and the third is a never-finished hull.  She can accommodate 26 guests and has a crew of 17. Which is a low crew/guest ratio, compared to modern yachts. She is owned by the eldest son of Stavros – Philip Niarchos.

She left Grand Harbour, Malta on Friday 5th March, 2021 around 1700 hrs bound to Monaco.
