Lately at Palumbo Malta Superyachts the 125 metre Superyacht MARYAH was seen berthed at Somerset Wharf, the same time TOPAZ was floated at Dock 2.
MARYAH started as a Russian research vessel, built in Poland in the 1990’s. She was acquired by Sheikh Tahnoon ben Zayed Al Nahyan who is a son of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1918-
The Al Nahyan Family is one of the six ruling families of the United Arab Emirates, based in Abu Dhabi. It’s most known member is Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is the President of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Abu Dhabi. The Al Nahyan Family owns many of the world’s largest yachts, including AZZAM the world’s longest yacht (owned by Sheikh Khalifa), TOPAZ owned by Sheikh Mansour (brother of Sheikh Khalifa), YAS owned by Sheikh Hamdan (also brother of Sheikh Khalifa) and RABDAN (Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan).
They yacht MARYAH is named after the Al Maryah Island, which is owned by Sheikh Tahnoon. Al Marhay Island lies north east of Abu Dhabi, and is named for for the Arabian oryx (“al maryah” in Arabic). It is currently being developed by Mubadala (the state owned development company) into a new city center.
She was seen leaving Valletta on Friday 27th July, 2018 at 0724 hrs proceeding to Suez Canal
