One of the most beautiful converted superyachts in the world the 88 m long ARCTIC P currently is cruising around the Maltese Islands. She was built in 1970 as an ocean going salvage tug ARCTIC owned by German Tug company Bugsier GmbH & Co Kg (still in existence).

She was built in Germany by Schichau Unterwesser AG at their Bremerhaven yard as Yard Number 1746. She was sold to a Dublin based investment firm in 1993 and renamed ARCTIC RESEARCH. Soon after, in 1994, she was sold to an Australian businessman Kerry Packer whose family still own the yacht today and sent to Malta Drydocks for an extensive conversion.

She was in Malta several times both for drydocking/repairs and also cruising our islands in the past. Last Thursday 15th August, 2019 she was spotted heading to Gozo for few hours and of which at 0945 she was off Mgarr Harbour

Around noon she shifted herself to Mellieha Bay on anchors –

At 1355 hrs she anchored at Mellieha Bay –

Lately she found a good spot for anchorage off Fomm ir Rih Bay of which we took the opportunity to take different images of this beauty with the wonderful landscape of the West Coast of Malta with clay dunes and steep rock –

Yesterday, Thursday 22nd August she shifted again anchoring at Mellieha Bay –

And today Friday 23rd August, 2019 at 1214 hrs she entered Valletta, berthing at Valletta Cruise Port Pinto Wharf 3.
