A Swiss bank is pursuing a Saudi prince in court over claims he failed to pay back millions in interest and loans he took out to refinance his English mansion and his superyacht – SARAFSA.
Credit Suisse Group AG claims that Prince Fahad Bin Sultan, the governor of Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk province, failed to repay roughly $78million (£57million) in interest and loans he took out to refinance his 82 metre superyacht SARAFSA and Surrey mansion. A court filing in London, UK revealed that the yacht SARAFSA, homeported at Georgetown with Cayman Islands Flag (CYM), is worth roughly 58million euros (£48million), while the property estate, close to the Wentworth Golf Club just south of London, is worth £35million.




SARAFSA was built by Devonport Yachts, UK in 2008. With a beam of 15 metres and a draft of 3.70metres, she has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. She is powered by MTU 6V 595 TE70 engines of 2700hp each, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots for 6000 nautical miles.
